4th of July Parade Pictures

It was a cold and wet morning, but our youth and parents represented our parish with pride and enthusiasm at the parade in Coralville.   Thanks to all the Moms and Dads and you great young people !!!!     You are the best.

Coralville 4th of July Parade !!!

Come join the fun as we march in the Coralville 4th of July Parade!!   All parishoners are invited to come and let the people of Coralville know we are on the move.    Our very own band will be leading the parade as we celebrate Independence Day.    The staging area is at the McGregor parking lot at Highway 6 and 22nd Ave – try to arrive by 9:30 at the latest as the parade begins at 10:00.    Any questions call Deacon Ed at 337-4231

Vacation Bible School – August 3 thru 6, 2009

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – AUGUST 3^RD THRU 6TH

Make plans now for your children to attend VBS at Regina, August 3^rd thru the 6^th.  Children in pre-school thru grade 5 at the Regina Education Center.   Cost is $25 per child or $30 per family.   Start time is 8:30 ending at 11:45.   Helpers are need in all areas of work…teaching, crafts, recreation, music and kitchen.   A volunteer meeting will be held July 20^th, beginning at 6:30 PM in the Regina Elementary Media Center.   Childcare will be provided for volunteers.   The below links are to pointed at various forms needed to register, youth volunteers, and adult volunteer forms – along with Registration Forms.  Please mail all forms to the Religious Education Office at St Thomas More – 108 Mclean Street

New Church Pictures – June 2009

Our new home is rapidly taking shape!  Exterior work is nearing completion – with a tentative completion date of November of 2009.   Mark your calendar now for dedication mass on November 14th of 2009 !!   God is good all the time and all the time God is Good !!!

Early Registration for 2009 – 2010 School Year !!

In an effort to register children early on we are offerring a “special” on tuition during the month of May.  Register early during the month of May and tuition per child will be offered at $100.    All students that attended RE at STM this past year should have received this information via mail – if you did not, please let us know asap.   Below are links to the registration form and to a letter to all parents mailed during the month of May.    Space at the Education Station is at a premium, so register early to insure your spot.

Religious Education Year End Closing Mass

Below are pictures from the closing masses held at the Education Statioin and St Thomas More last week.   Thanks to Father Marty Goetz and Father Doyle for celbrating with our children.   Have a great summer – see you next September 21st and 23rd.

First Communion 2009

On April 18th and 19th 52 young people from St Thomas More Church received Jesus for the first time thru the Sacrement of Holy Eucharist.   Please continue to pray for these youngsters.    Below are pictures from this weekend’s mass.

BEAM SIGNING AT STM

 

March 22nd marked an important date in the history of our Parish.    Construction has progressed to a point where members of our Parish were asked to sign their names to one of the steel beams going up in the new building.    Below are pictures of this event

Ash Wednesday Soup Supper was a delicious success yet again thanks to Mary Nixon & helpers, along with the confirmandi who helped serve. Thank you all who participated in this STM tradition.

Jr High Youth Rally – March 29th – Regina High School

Religious Education Secretary Position

After 20 years of service to the people of St Thomas More, Mary Steffen will be leaving her position of secretary of the Religious Education Department this coming June.    Mary has been a tireless worker for us these many years.   She will be missed greatly.   We will begin taking applications for this job immediately.  Job description and application are available at the Parish Office, or at the Parish web site.
